Holdover Tenant in Florida
When the tenancy has ended and the tenant has not vacated, the tenant become a “holdover” tenant also called a tenant “at sufferance” or a “trespasser. Florida Statutes Section 83.04 provides that the holdover tenant is now liable for DOUBLE rent until they move out. The landlord may file the eviction with no further notice.
